A note from the founder
While working with clients one question that I often revisited was, how effectively can people apply a solution focused approach to their life, if they are not given a safe space that allows them to process their traumas, historical events and the journey that has brought them to this present moment. This ignited my motivation towards supporting my clients to process significant life events, gain a deeper insight and support them to rationalise and reframe their thinking following thorough assessment and treatment formulation.
As a Specialist Practitioner, my primary goal is to create a safe space for self-exploration. Offering client lead guidance and resources to support clients overcome obstacles within their lives.
Through years of experience delivering therapeutic methods, I have learnt that the client often holds the answers within them. However, often clients require the guidance of a trained practitioner to explore the areas of their lives that they have oppressed, resulting in a lack of fulfilment and purpose. I often say to clients that we all have this drawer or cupboard in our homes that we throw everything in and ignore. We avoid looking through this drawer for fear of what we may find. This is exactly the case for our interventions, they encourage you to revisit the parts of yourself that you have oppressed. For this reason, sessions can be uncomfortable at times, however I am always proud of the clients who embark on this journey because the other side is beautiful. It is my objective to help alleviate limitations and blockages preventing you from ascending into your best self.
It is never you. it is always ‘we’ we are in this together.
My Core Values
Self-Exploration
I pride myself on ‘guiding clients back home to themselves’ this requires a deeper level self-exploration and awareness. Many of us navigate through life exploring only the very surface of our true identity. Often this identity is masked by what we perceive to be societies ideology of how we should present ourselves within the world, and for this reason many of us never really explore the depths of who we are. Self-exploration is concerned with how we perceive ourselves, our role in the world and how we can show up authentically, and intentionally. Having a deeper understanding of your ‘Primal self’ will bring ease, assurance and contentment in all areas of your present life.
Community
Community is at the core of everything I do. There are countless different layers to community and the importance of imbedding this into all that we do. I pride myself on connecting women, children and families from different corners of the world who have a shared interest in reaching self actualisation. Through my work at Journal to Dreams I have had the pleasure of connecting likeminded women from Brazil, Gambia, USA, Hawaii, Trinidad, Canada, UK and Kenya.
